GPL-1 You already have it!
/I’M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS…
I literally couldn’t wait to share this amazing way to turn your gut health around, lose weight without taking the GPL-1 shots, drastically improve your gut health ( i.e no bloating, no gas, regular BM’s) and feeling fantastic!
This is part #1 of a 3-part series. I’ve broken it down so it’s easier to “digest”.
#2 How to make the cultured yogurt.
#3 We learn that different probiotics can be added to our cultured yogurt for different benefits such as pain reduction, better sleep, weight loss, anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, control SIBO/SIFO, lower cortisol and so much more. .

Here we go…..
Everyone is talking about the GPL-1 (which stands for Glucagon-Like Peptide-1)
It’s the big news on the street to lose those stubborn pounds that have accumulated. Whether its pills or injections, “We the people” are on it!
BUT did you know that your gut already creates GPL-1!
YES! And, with a little knowledge and action you can learn to stimulate your own GPL-1 by eating the foods that stimulate this secret team of very smart worker bees that reside in your gut!
I think that the biggest complaint that people have whilst taking the GPL-1 is CONSTIPATION - which can be severe in some cases (causing hemorrhoids, bloating and discomfort) and that’s where I come in with colon hydrotherapy, sensible advice for gut health and dietary suggestions from 30+ years of experience as a Natural Therapeutic Specialist and Colon Hydro therapist. I’ve been making and eating two kinds of homemade cultured yogurt L.Reuteri and L.Gasseri for a month and my husband and I have noticed the following:
1. ITS SO EASY TO MAKE - IT LITERALLY TAKES 5 MINUTES
2. APPETITE SUPPRESSANT
3.HIGHER SUSTAINABLE ENERGY
4.BETTER SLEEP
5.LESS ACHES AND PAINS
6.BOTH OUR WAIST LINES HAVE GOT SLIMMER!
7. And we felt HAPPY! (more on that below)
8. MY MENOPAUSAL CORTISOL LOWERED
Here’s the back side of the story:
We all have this secret team of trillions of microbes in our gut. They are smart little dudes and play a huge role in your life behind the scenes. The GPL-1 hormone is released into your gut when you EAT THE RIGHT FOODS (sound familiar?)
Here’s what they like to eat:
Fermented foods (e.g. sauerkraut)
Fiber (Prebiotic fiber specifically feeds the microbiome. More on that below and article #3)
Dense proteins (e.g. fermented yogurt, kefir)
DON’T WORRY ITS EASY AND TASTES DEVINE
When you feed your team of worker bees down there – this will stimulate the signal to release the GPL-1. The better the quality of the nourishment – the stronger the signal and the longer it will last.
The cultured/properly fermented yogurt is so dang tasty that I have to ration it out to my family! Add a few blueberries and it’s a fantastic dessert or sustaining snack. (You’ll learn how to make it in the next article!)
Also check out:A CULTURED LIFE this site has literally hundreds of recipes and information. Plus you can purchase your specific probiotics here too.
Here’s the thing:
If you have ever been on antibiotics, pain medications, birth control, steroids, medication in general or basically lived life and had some stress, anxiety, grief, depression then its likely your microbiome (the good bugs in your gut) are not as strong and in balance as they want to be. It’s like having a football team and no quarterback. Taking probiotics is better than nothing, as is buying the ‘good yogurt” as the grocery store but making your own is far beyond what you get anywhere else.
It’s not just the trillions of good healthy microbiome you are making but the synergy of all the trillions of microbes that work together – your complete football team.
When we make our own cultured yogurt, kefir or cottage cheese, we ferment the bacteria with a prebiotic fiber (e.g. inulin) and a dairy such as ½ in ½ or goat or coconut milk for at least 36 hours at (usually)100’.
Compare to a store bought yogurt such as Nancys probiotic yogurt that is fermented for around 4 hours, also it does not have the extra probiotic strains that you are going to put in that are going to transfrom your gut and your health. If you are lactose intolerant don’t worry as the long fermentation process breaks it all down so you are good to go. You can always get the casein free milk too.
So, why did we feel HAPPY?!
Oxytocin: The hormone of love, youth and happiness! YEAH BABY!
Restoring the L. Reuteri microbe in the gut, from eating homemade cultured yogurt that contains thIS particular bacteria, triggers the release of oxytocin! That feeling of inner peace, happiness and compassion (e.g. I’m less wired, not as easily triggered or annoyed. My husband even noticed!) Now how great is that?! L.Reuteri also increases libido, helps slenderness, improves skin and lowers cortisol the stress hormone plus more. More on this in article #3
Why is prebiotic FIBER so important?
Alas, most of us have neglected our prebiotic fiber intake! Bacteria are enthusiastic consumers of fiber. I’m constantly educating my clients to include fiber as well as veggies in their daily diet. (soaked chia seed or ground flax seed plus certain legumes, veggies, mushrooms) It prevents constipation too.
Briefly:
1. If your microbiome doesn’t get fiber, then they cannot survive. They are starving. (poor little dudes)
2. Plus, the mucus lining of your gastrointestinal tract thins out, opening the door to intestinal inflammation and autoimmune diseases.
Conclusion:
For most of us – the key issue we may be most interested in initially is WEIGHT LOSS and how to stimulate our very own GPL-1. But, the quaity of life that is improved is very significant. How would you like to be enjoying more energy, better sleep and have an over all feeling of greater well being. Sounds great right?!
These things and a lot more are all available to you by making a simple yogurt at home that is properly fermented.
I hope you aren’t overwhelmed – in the next article I release you will see just how easy it is to make. Even a monkey could do it!
And, once you have the first probiotic yogurt made you reuse that “mother” over and over again to make more fermented foods such as kefir and cottage cheese. Its the gift that keeps on giving!
