Golden Milk Secrets
The “secrets” of cooking with Curcumin (Turmeric) is that you will increase the absorbability by 1000x if you:
1. Use a high quality oil such as Coconut or Olive oil to gently heat the spice up first
2. Add a good amount of freshly ground black pepper to your mix! It’s the pepperin in the black pepper that activates the curcumin
GOLDEN MILK is a simple way to ingest this magical spice as well as being delicious!
Taken before bed, it will soothe your stress and help you slumber into a deep relaxing sleep. For chronic pain/ bowel problems try it 2x a day.
First you make a paste.
Lightly heat your oil, about 2-3 tbls, add about ¼ cup of Curcumin and STIR, you may have to add water to help make a paste and prevent it from sticking or burning. Stir/ cook for about 6-8 minutes. (If it burns – throw it out and start again) Add your black pepper to the paste and stir for a minute more. Store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Then you make Golden Milk
Warm up about 12 oz of either eg. Rice milk or almond milk, do not boil. You can use a good generous heaped teaspoon of the paste for a nice cuppa Golden Milk. Stir and stir until the paste is fully dissolved. ADD cinnamon and ginger to give it some extra spicy yumminess, if you can’t do without sweetness try Maple syrup or Agave but remember that its SUGAR that promotes inflammation so try to do without. That’s it. Easy.
